Merry Christmas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it"s really here! I would like to thank all my lovely customers for their patronage, friendship and inspiration from all your beautiful work that you share with me. May you all have a beautiful Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

The shop will be closed as of tomorrow Friday 23rd December and reopen on Wednesday 28th December. And it will be closed on Saturday 31st December and reopen on Tuesday 3rd January.

We have a very full and exciting year planned for you all next year.Watch this space!

Our Show n Tell Day Last Saturday

What a lovely day we had on Saturday. It was our annual "Show n Tell" day when our lovely students can show off their beautiful work. It was lovely for my gorgeous teacher and right hand Carol as all the students showed things that they had all done with her. Which made her feel very proud!

 

Judy has been one of our students that never gives up, she improvises alot and it always works for her. We are now calling her the 'Queen of Tablerunners". We are so proud of you Judy your a real champ!

Helena proved she does finish things, this bag was from 2010 retreat.

Helena's two versions of her Lazy Layer Cake Quilt. This is one of Carol's classes, very popular. Sorry Helena about the first photo!

This is Jo our quiet achiever. When she isn't delivering babies, she's sewing!!!

This is Neridah and she has only started patchworking this year with Carol. She has made a gorgeous sampler quilt with Carol but it was away being quilted. Well done!

Helena thought Karan's wallhanging would make a great crown!

All these beauiful projects are what Karan has finished in the last six months. Our joke with Karan is 'to get a job' as this is how she has had the time to make all these beautiful things plus others. Well done Kaz!

This is Loiuse with her gorgeous quilts from two of Carol's classes 'Jamestown' and 'Hidden Stars'. Just stunning aren't they!

We were very lucky to have Jane home for our Show n Tell and Christmas dinner as she has been away travelling Australia all year. She came home just in time! Her is her version of 'Jamestown'. And some of her applique blocks she been sewing under the awning eating nibbles.You look great Jane, nice to see you.

And Yvonnes two quilts 'Cactus Wreath' and 'Amish Refections' are just stunning. Yvonnes started with Carol last year making a Sampler Quilt now look what she's making!

Carol and myself would like to thank all you girls who attend on Saturday. Your all very special.

I would also like to thank Carol as all the girls works are a great reflection on you as a teacher and as a wonderful person. Thankyou.

Some Of The Events At Jukejema Quilting Barn

Well we have been very busy here, being very social !!!! Last Wednesday evening we had our shop Christmas dinner at the Postmans Tavern. We all had a lovely evening with great company and beautiful meals.

Thanks so much for a lovely evening.

Thursday night was our last one for the year with our 'Secret Santa' swap.

Cherly was just sooo excited!

Charmaine has no excuses now for turning up with no sewing, she has a bag to put it all in!

Jo was extremely happy with her bag from Cherly.

Pippa's bag was just gorgeous. It holds two floss boxes, a fantasic gift. Now you'll have no more thread nests Pip!

Thanks Alison I love my bag. Alison was unable to be there as she had be sick.

And Sue was just as gorgeous as ever as slack me hadn't quiet fininshed her's so I improvised and gave her one that my Mum had made. I will fininsh it I promise over the holidays. Our theme this year was 'Bags" as you may have guessed. Just seems to make it easier for some of the girls, Next year has already been spoken about, 'Cushions'. Better start now!

Show n Tell Day this Saturday ( and a one day sale)

This Saturday the 3rd of December is our annual 'Show n Tell'  day. So any of our girls from our classes bring along their quilts from the classes that they have attended. Then we get all inspired and want to finish and start all our projects we have !!!! You can also bring along any projects in progress aswell. We have a lovely morning tea, this year as we are in premises you my sit in the sun on the front verandah.

This is one of our many talented students. Jo with her Sue Daley quilt 'Gypsy Garden' that she started with Sue at her workshop this year. It's just amazing what our girls standard of workmanship is, very talented.

Also on Saturday I will be having a one day SALE!!!! Fabrics, patterns  and giftware 30% off. Books $10 off. Plus on the spot sales through the morning.

Shop times are 9.30 am- 12.30 pm. Show n tell will start at 10.00am.

A Special Evening

Well last Wednesday evening the lovely Carol had organised a dinner for the lovely Sue Stubbs and myself as we are having a birthday each with some big numbers, which equal '90'. Yes, Sue was 50 last Friday and I will be 40 on this Friday. Carol had organized the girls from our 'sit n sew' groups if they would like to attend.

Sorry Kathy you looked away!!!

We went to a lovely Italian resturant called 'Tuscany'. We all had beautiful meals. And Carol had organised a gorgeous surprise for Sue and I. I recieved a beautiful box with stitcheries that all my lovely customers had done for me. They are just so gorgeous!!! They are the quilt of Hugs n Kisses "Life Is Beautiful' and some were of there own design.(thanks for the chicken Sharon M) Marrianne had even stitched a block from our dear friend Lisa who we lost this year to breast cancer, she also would have been 40 this year aswell.

Sue received  blocks stitched by the girls aswell. 'Nice People Nice Things' by Hugs n Kisses. She thought she had one up on me but now we are equal! Hehehe!

Thankyou Carol for organising the dinner it was just so lovely. And I'm sure you must have had jetlag seeing that you only got home from the States on Monday. You really are an Angel.

Thankyou also to all my customers which have become friends, for my gorgeous blocks. You all really know how to make my day and bring tears to my eyes.

Sharon thought she'd try the orange flower that decorated her meal????? We'll have to start calling her Daisy!

Gerringong Quilt Show

Just a little reminder that the Gerringong Quilt Show is on this weekend. Saturday 9.00am - 5.00pm and Sunday 9.00 - 4.00pm. Call by our stall and say hello to our lovely Carol. There are some beautiful quilts on display and gorgeous things to buy.

Need An Idea For A Christmas Present

Need a idea for a 'Secret Santa' present? Well this little table runner may just be it. My delightful and wonderful friend Sharon has made up this sample of Janelle Wind's tablerunner 'Orange Blossom'. And it is just gorgeous, even if I do say so myself. She has made it up out of 'Strawberry Fields' fabric range by Figtree Quilts.

The colours in this range are yummy enough to eat. I have the pattern available to purchase by itself or I also have kits made up aswell. Just send me an email or contact the shop on 02 44212577.

And this is the lovely and talented Sharon. It was her birthday a few weeks ago. (I really hope her Bootcamp trainer doesn't see this!!!!!!)

8 Week Countdown Till Christmas

Well I hate to say it but we are on the big countdown...there is only 8 weeks until that jolly man in the red suit stops off to say Merry Christmas...or if you you prefer there are only 55 sleeps!!

Its almost time to decorate but don't fear because in the shop at the moment I have the cutest decorations and Christmas goodies.

There are some lovely little birdie ornaments and hanging decorations and the most delightful snowmen.

You might prefer to decorate by making something special and there are some great patterns out at the moment.

Some fantastic Christmas prints are in store from Moda. These are in the ranges Jovial, Countdown to Christmas and Grace by Three Sisters.

I also have some little fat quarter and fat eighth bundles of Lynette Andersons Scandinavian Christmas from Lecien.The colours are just lovely in this range and are perfect for something a little different.

Some more exciting news is that Carol has put on her cowboy boots and headed off to Houston, Texas. She is sure to come home just bursting with new ideas and lots of news about all the newsest trends that are heading our way. Fingers crossed that she gets a flight home ok!!

Dont forget that I am happy to bundle up any goodies and fabrics and post them out or stop by and pay me a visit to say hi!

Stitch A Christmas Gift...

Well it's getting very close to that holly jolly season, and I've seen lots of people counting down days on their blogs...but the good news is that there is still time to make a few gifts, so get out that needle and thread and come into Jukejema for a fantastic "Sewing for Santa" workshop with Vicki Porter.

Vicki has designed some lovely little zippered bags that are perfect for little treasures and stitching projects, a heart scissor holder, little bird pin cushion, a phone pouch and a tissue holder. As well as all of these she also has instructions to make an origami style bag that you can see at the back of this photo. This class would certainly give you quite a few ideas for gifts and have you well on your way to stitching them. The "Sewing for Santa" workshop is running this Saturday, 22nd October from 10am - 3pm. You can grab a friend and give me a call on 44212577 to book your place. The class is $50 and includes the patterns for all projects. I promise to have something yummy for morning tea, but don't forget to bring your lunch!

Another Vicki class that we are running is Melbourne Cup Day.

This is always a fun filled day! You will be working on the projects pictured above. Spend your day stitching, enter some sweeps and enjoy a delicious lunch. The cost for this class has been reduced to $80 and includes lunch and patterns and is on Tuesday 1st November from 10am - 3pm. A requirements list is available upon booking and payment of your class deposit. Don't forget.... it is Melbourne Cup Day so wear your best hat and you might just win a prize!!

If you have not yet been to one of Vickis classes then you will be in for a real treat.

These girls are in Vickis Friday Stitch Club and let me tell you, they all were looking busy when I got the camera out. Friday is full of alot of laughing and a little stitching!
