Jukejema Retreat 2009.

Now I can relax - just for a moment though!  It is such a tense time leading up to the Retreat.  Have I done this, packed that etc!!  I don't think anything was forgotten and from the feedback that I have received so far everyone had a wonderful time - catching up with friends, meeting new friends, learning from expert tutors and generally having a relaxing weekend.                                       Waterslea is a beautiful setting on the Shoalhaven River at Nowra.  We had the privilege of having 4 wonderful tutors for weekend.  They were Anni Downs from Hatched and Patched, Natalie Bird from The Birdhouse, Natalie Ross from Natalie Ross in Stitches and Janelle Wind from The Janelle Wind Collection.

 

Some ladies took advantage of being away from home and went to bed at a reasonable hour and a few continued sewing into the wee hours of the morning.  There were a lot of finished projects for the weekend - all lovely.

We were lucky enough to have Judy the Pin Police lady for the weekend to make sure that no one took any chances with putting pins in their mouths.  Fortunately everyone was well behaved and no fines were issued.

Plans are already in progress for next year's Retreat.  It will be held at Waterslea from the 20-22 August 2010.  Don't forget to come into the shop or send a photo to show me all the finished projects.  It is always great to have a look at what you have all been up to.

Finally a huge thanks to everyone who came to the retreat and a personal thankyou to all of my special helpers (you know who you are).  I am always grateful for the support that all my family and friends give me and now a thankyou (from my heart) to the 4 wonderful tutors (Natalie, Anni, Natalie & Janelle) for without you the weekend would not have been so Special!!

New Class List.

Hello to everyone and this has been a very busy month since my last post.  There is new fabric arriving all the time and how lovely it is. 

My Retreat at Waterslea on the beautiful Shoalhaven River is very quickly approaching.  It is on the 7th - 9th August. Everyone who has booked needs to come into the shop or contact me to arrange final payments and collect your requirement lists.

SALE STARTS TODAY!

Over the last couple of weeks I have been to the Trade Fair and was able to see all the beautiful new projects and fabric ranges on offer.

Lucky Winners!

We had many lucky winners at Saturdays Breast of Friends morning tea.
There were lucky door prizes and a guessing competition.
The winner of the guessing competition received a lovely plant and of course the glass container full of M & M's.  Can you believe there is 644 in there!
Better luck next time everyone...
The next morning tea is scheduled for Saturday the 10th October 2009 at 10.00am.
Maybe someone will have their quilt finished.

Breast of Friends Morning Tea

On Saturday I hosted a wonderful morning tea for Breast Cancer.
I had the company of lovely ladies who are working on the Breast of Friends quilt, and they were more than happy to show their progressing blocks.  They were all fantastic.

Every one enjoyed yummy cakes and a cuppa.

Hello and it's great seeing you again,

I have had a busy couple of weeks.  New fabric arriving all the time.  I will include some photos next time.

I would like to share with you some lovely groups of quilters who are participating the the Breast of Friends challenge that is being promoted through Homespun Magazine.

One group meet on a Thursday and the other on a Tuesday night.

They decided that they would get together once a month to make the quilt. Everyone donates money that will be given to our local breast cancer fund raising group.

On Saturday 30th May I am having a show and tell for anyone who is doing or planning to do (but just haven't started yet).

It starts at 10.00am with morning tea supplied and some lovely raffle prizes. 

A small cost of $5.00 is requested which will be donated to the Shoalhaven Breast Cancer Support Unit. 

I am looking forward to seeing you at this fun filled morning.

Classes at Jukejema Quilting Barn

Hi and welcome back,

At Jukejema I have classes most weeks of the year.They are held during the day and evening.

This is a group of ladies that come to the shop on a Monday evening to sit and sew as part of an Applique group.  As you will see from my current class list (which you can download from the link below) this class is also run on a Tuesday morning.

Stitching at The Water's Edge Retreat

In 2009, Jukejema Quilting Barn is holding their 2nd annual retreat from Friday 7th August until Sunday 9th August. 

It is being held at Waterslea situated on the banks of the Shoalhaven River.  This is a fantastic venue offering great accomodation with beautiful meals and spectacular views. 

Combine this with 4 fantastic tutors and you have the most enjoyable and relaxing weekend.  The tutors are Anni Downs from Hatched & Patched, Natalie Bird from The Birdhouse, Natalie Ross from Natalie Ross In Stitches and Janelle Wind from the Janelle Wind Collection.  The girls are designing an exclusive project for the weekend and you receive all the patterns.

Finally Started

Hi and welcome to Jukejema Quilting Barn.  My name is Kim Goatcher and I have owned my beautiful quilting shop for 6 years.  The shop is located at 64 Kinghorn Street, Nowra in the Shoalhaven region of the NSW South Coast. 

 My shop is open Monday - Friday 9am to 4-30pm and Saturday 9am to 12-30pm. 

I stock a varied selection of patterns including Hatched & Patched, Natalie Ross in Stitches, The Birdhouse, Leanne's House, Amberwood Designs, The Rivendale Collection, Rosalie Quinlan Designs, The Janelle Wind Collection....just to name a few! 

Some of the fabric ranges that I have at the present time include Aviary by 3 sisters for Moda, Legacy by Moda, Baskets of Flowers by Moda and many other beautiful fabrics - you might say that my shop is inspired by country, soft pretties and gorgeous co-ordinates.  I also stock a lovely range of giftware - just arrived - new selection for Mothers Day.

My fantastic tutors are Carol Kinross, Vicki Porter and Jennie Osborne.  These 3 ladies conduct various classes that have my students continuously in awe of their talents.  There is a new class list due out next week which I am in the process of including as a category on this page.  Keep your eyes on this space for information about the Retreat on the beautiful Shoalhaven river in August.
