SOME VERY SAD NEWS

Well after coming home from our Easter camping trip, I was told yesturday that one of my lovely customers and her husband had been killed in a microlight plane crash on Easter Saturday at Cootamundra. My husband and I heard a news break on Tuesday night that a local Nowra couple had been killed in a light aircraft acident and you know when you hear things but don't really and make a off hand comment. I said to David I really hope that wasn't my customer Elaine and her husband they're flying this easter. And now I am really sorry to know that it was Elaine and her husband Ian.

Elain had became a very frequent customer over the years with learning her patchwork and attending many classes. And for the last two years being part of Vicki's stitch club. Her husband visited the shop for the important gifts for her special presents.(anything patchwork).

To all Elaine and Ian's family I'm so very sorry for your loss and I am certain that all the teachers and girls that have been in any classes all feel the same.

I'll miss seeing Elaine because she was always smiling.

NEW THINGS AT JUKEJEMA !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well how the days are flying and so are the girls fingers. I think most of the girls here are addicted to 'English Paper Piecing'!! I think they are all finding everything that they are doing is revolving around the glue stick. Here's a couple of photo's of "Lancaster' centre's, how gorgeous are they? Well done Kathleen and Sue.

And also in our Thursday night girls is the lovely Cheryl, who were all very envious of with her clear little suitcase full of 'Hexagons'. Well now everyone just wanted to take them home. Cheryl is just making them cause she can and she doesn't really have a plan. They were just yummy!!!!!!!!!!

We have Chris Jurd coming to teach on 19th and 20th April with 2 spots left in the two day workshop. You are able to choose any of her designs to do in this workshop. She is an amazing teacher and I'm sure you'll have a most enjoyable time.You can view any of Chris's quilts on her blog - chrisquilts.blogspot.com.au . Give the shop a call on 44212577.

The lovely Carol has a great class in April, 'Crazy Charm Squares Plus Lazy Layers 2'. Saturday 28th April or Monday 30th April. Carol's previous 'Lazy Layers Classes were a hugh success so I'm sure these will be no exception. Ring the shop to make a booking 44212577.

REWIND A COUPLE OF WEEKS

The weekend of The Lioness Quilt show was great. The show was lovely, with alot of students putting their gorgeous quilts on display. Well done to everyone who participated in the show. This really is a great Quilt Show for our local area. Our Jukejema stall looked great and was a great success. Thankyou Delma and all the other Lionesses for looking after us.

OUR SUE DALEY VISIT

How lucky are we to have the very lovely and talented Sue Daley here again this year. She just amazes me with her knowledge and ideas. Sue was here for two 1 day workshops and we were able to have them at the new shop, as now we have more room! The main quilt that was taught was the new Lancaster Quilt that is absolutley gorgeous, all those reds, pinks and browns. Yum Yum!!

All the girls that attended the workshops were so busy and quietly working, I think Sue was abit shocked especially with the Sunday group.

 

I would like to thank my Mum for making all the yummy slices for the weekend. Its funny no one ever knocks back Mum's slices except if they are on the strictest diet!

I even had a lovely lady Sharon who was on holidays here from Adelaide, come and spend the Saturday  doing Sue's workshop.

Thankyou Sue for a fantastic weekend. Your such an inspiration! My mind has not stopped with all your ideas, it's just my hands can't work fast enough.

Watch for these little Baskets. They are addictive!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for next years visit Sue and yes we'll have lot's of chocolate!

QUILT & CRAFT SHOW

The 6th Annual Lioness Club Quilt & Craft Show is on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March 2012.

We have entry forms for anyone that would like to enter their quilts.

Your quilts may be left at the shop by TUESDAY 28th FEBUARY 12.00pm and then after the show they will be brought back to the shop for you to pick them up

We Are Still Here!!!!!!

Well doesn't life get very hectic! Sorry it's been awhile between posts but family and myself have had to come first for awhile. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas, and have bounced into the New  Year ok. Our youngest daughter Morgan broke her arm between Christmas and New Year. So we have now manage to get through that and she had her cast removed last Friday. And I have had my thyroid removed two weeks ago and everything is great so far.

So our year so far has been busy.

We have plenty of classes on offer to you all including the lovely Sue Daley will be back to teach again for me on Saturday 10th March and Sunday 11th March. You'll not be disappointed as her new quilt is gorgeous!! Costings have been worked out, which you can give the shop a call ph 44212577 or email me. If you're from out of town there is a great motel one block from the shop for accommodation. More on Sue Daly shortly.

I have our lovely regular teachers aswell, Carol Kinross has been working her fingers to the bone! (in the shop and getting samples ready)Thanks Carol xxx.

Vicki Porter has started her very popular Stitch Club again. All the girls seem very excited about there new mystery quilt. It's really gorgeous.

Jennie Osbourne is back in March for her once a month visit. Her new quilt is beautiful. I don't think she has named it as yet. There is still a couple of spots in her Saturday class.

Chris Jurd is back again teaching her fabulous designs and you may choose from any of her designs to make. Call the shop and we can explain her dates and costings.

And something that will be very exciting for Jukejema Quilting Barn is that Lynette Anderson is coming to teach in August. Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of August, final costs have to be finalized but we are taking names now for this very exciting workshop.

So this is just a quick blurb about our classes and we have lots to come yet aswell for the rest of the year.

Merry Christmas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it"s really here! I would like to thank all my lovely customers for their patronage, friendship and inspiration from all your beautiful work that you share with me. May you all have a beautiful Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

The shop will be closed as of tomorrow Friday 23rd December and reopen on Wednesday 28th December. And it will be closed on Saturday 31st December and reopen on Tuesday 3rd January.

We have a very full and exciting year planned for you all next year.Watch this space!

Our Show n Tell Day Last Saturday

What a lovely day we had on Saturday. It was our annual "Show n Tell" day when our lovely students can show off their beautiful work. It was lovely for my gorgeous teacher and right hand Carol as all the students showed things that they had all done with her. Which made her feel very proud!

 

Judy has been one of our students that never gives up, she improvises alot and it always works for her. We are now calling her the 'Queen of Tablerunners". We are so proud of you Judy your a real champ!

Helena proved she does finish things, this bag was from 2010 retreat.

Helena's two versions of her Lazy Layer Cake Quilt. This is one of Carol's classes, very popular. Sorry Helena about the first photo!

This is Jo our quiet achiever. When she isn't delivering babies, she's sewing!!!

This is Neridah and she has only started patchworking this year with Carol. She has made a gorgeous sampler quilt with Carol but it was away being quilted. Well done!

Helena thought Karan's wallhanging would make a great crown!

All these beauiful projects are what Karan has finished in the last six months. Our joke with Karan is 'to get a job' as this is how she has had the time to make all these beautiful things plus others. Well done Kaz!

This is Loiuse with her gorgeous quilts from two of Carol's classes 'Jamestown' and 'Hidden Stars'. Just stunning aren't they!

We were very lucky to have Jane home for our Show n Tell and Christmas dinner as she has been away travelling Australia all year. She came home just in time! Her is her version of 'Jamestown'. And some of her applique blocks she been sewing under the awning eating nibbles.You look great Jane, nice to see you.

And Yvonnes two quilts 'Cactus Wreath' and 'Amish Refections' are just stunning. Yvonnes started with Carol last year making a Sampler Quilt now look what she's making!

Carol and myself would like to thank all you girls who attend on Saturday. Your all very special.

I would also like to thank Carol as all the girls works are a great reflection on you as a teacher and as a wonderful person. Thankyou.

Some Of The Events At Jukejema Quilting Barn

Well we have been very busy here, being very social !!!! Last Wednesday evening we had our shop Christmas dinner at the Postmans Tavern. We all had a lovely evening with great company and beautiful meals.

Sorry girls this is sideways, I'm still learning!!!!

Thanks so much for a lovely evening.

Thursday night was our last one for the year with our 'Secret Santa' swap.

Cherly was just sooo excited!

Charmaine has no excuses now for turning up with no sewing, she has a bag to put it all in!

Jo was extremely happy with her bag from Cherly.

Pippa's bag was just gorgeous. It holds two floss boxes, a fantasic gift. Now you'll have no more thread nests Pip!

Thanks Alison I love my bag. Alison was unable to be there as she had be sick.

And Sue was just as gorgeous as ever as slack me hadn't quiet fininshed her's so I improvised and gave her one that my Mum had made. I will fininsh it I promise over the holidays. Our theme this year was 'Bags" as you may have guessed. Just seems to make it easier for some of the girls, Next year has already been spoken about, 'Cushions'. Better start now!
